Sharing the Love

March 8, is International Women's Day!

It's a day to celebrate the contributions of women and girls everywhere; to recognize women who inspire us; and to renew discussion about gender equality and intersectional inclusion!

SHARING THE LOVE

In celebration of International Women's Day, I thought I'd show some love to my favourite women-owned businesses.

These are all businesses I have personally invested in or purchased from, and most of them were within the last year!

Knowing I have ethical, inspiring women to buy from or work with is just a great feeling.

It's impossible to rank these ladies in a particular order, so they are alphabetical.

If you're intrigued or inspired, I hope you'll click through and check out their businesses!

hernest project - Cassandra Osborn

My problem: I needed some comfy loungewear for WFH life, but didn’t want to buy any more poor quality / fast fashion clothing.

How hernest project helped: Hernest Project has beautiful, comfortable and ethically-made loungewear and sleepwear. Once I had her clothes in my closet, I wore them once a week for at least 6 months straight!

D’Ana Joi Spencer - Joi Knows How / Multi-Passionate Mastery Collective

My problem: I needed a community that inspired me.

How Joi helped: The Multi-Passionate Mastery collective is the magical online community that I didn’t know I needed. For me, it’s a place to share and grow my creative side, and gives me new inspiration for building my business in a different way. There are many communities based on hustle culture in business building and I’m tired of it. Joi has created an open, dynamic, and magical community that fills me up.

Heidi Taylor - heiditaylor.ca

My problem: My coaching discovery calls were lacking direction and didn’t convert.

How Heidi helped: I worked with Heidi’s 1:1 to re-do my Intake Form. Heidi helped me see how asking quality questions in my intake form that would prepare my prospective clients for the sales conversation in a discovery call. This has improved my process SO much. I’m much more prepared for discovery calls and so are my soon-to-be clients!

Kate Hutcheson-  the Efficient / Creative

My problem: I had a bunch of things that weren’t getting done in my business. But I wasn’t sure how to create processes that would help me get them done. Turns out, process creation is not my strength.

How Kate helped: Kate listened to my challenges and helped me come up with a content creation process, a client onboarding process, and even helped with my some Dubsado setup!

Kristine Miguel - Caritas Company

My problem: I wasn’t confident about the financial side of my business

How Kristine helped: Bookkeeping Bootcamp helped me get my books in order, but also gave me a big-picture view of how my business income fits into creating the life I want. This is the place to grow your financial confidence in your business.

Michelle Clayton - Let Her Fly

My problem: My website messaging wasn’t clear, and I wasn’t attracting the right clients.

How Michelle helped: Michelle’s Marketing Mastermind is the place I really learned to put the StoryBrand Framework into practice. Having the feedback of this group was incredibly valuable in creating clear brand messages for my business!

Michelle Ward - 90 Day Business Launch

My problem: In 2019, I wanted to start a business but I didn’t know how.

How Michelle helped: In 90 Days, Michelle helped me come up with a business name, create my first offers, build a website, make an opt-in and start marketing my business! If you want to launch your business on a deadline, Michelle is the business coach to make it happen!

Richelle Kozdial- Virtual Assistant

Richelle Kozdial- Virtual Assistant

My problem: I was overwhelmed with all the tasks I needed to do in my business.

How Richelle helped: Knowing I have help in my business is the BIGGEST weight off my mind. Richelle helps me spot gaps I might have in my process, handles things when I have too much on the go, and helps me see how to plan it out.

Sarah Beau - Sarah Beau Creative

My problem: The pictures I had weren’t working for what I needed.

How Sarah helped: Sarah’s an incredible wedding and brand photographer. She helped me think about what I want my brand to say, and then captured the photos to express that. I now have a set of beautiful photos that are useful for giving clients a feel for who I am.
