Heart in Hand

I once held a human heart in my hand.

Ok, so it was at science centre (Telus Spark), but the thing that struck me was the weight of it.

There’s just so much to a heart. So much in a heart.

And I realized that coaching is very much like this: holding a heart in your hand.

Even if it’s a conversation about words

Or about resumes

Or an ideal client

Or how to tell a story in an interview

Or how to create an elevator pitch

Or, if it’s the deeper conversation about longing to do work that really lights you up.

In all of these conversations, my job as a coach is to be open to what’s going for you.

Kinda like holding a heart.
