You can start fresh without starting over.
I know, I know. Change is SCARY. But sometimes we get stuck in the trap of thinking there are only two options:
a) stay stuck and unhappy where I am, or
b) start over from the bottom with nothing.
I remember thinking something along these lines a few years back. Feeling like, at the ripe old age of about 31, that it was just “too late for me” to make a change in my job. That I was pretty much stuck with what I had chosen. I casually said those words to a friend over a dinner plate of nachos, and she looked at me and said, “Actually, it’s not.”
It’s funny how the right words at the right time can make such a difference (I guess that’s why I’m so obsessed with getting words right.)
Her words opened up something for me: a possibility. The possibility that I could hope for more, that I didn’t have to stay if I didn’t want to, that there was still time for me to figure it out.
There are so many possibilities open to you. The idea that there are only two crappy choices available is a big fat lie.
I want you to know this: It’s possible to make small changes that make a positive impact, and you don’t have to risk losing it all.
Specifically, if you’re thinking about making a change in your work life:
You don’t have to go back to a low salary to change jobs
You don’t have to risk it all without a plan
You can explore and experiment
It’s possible to earn more AND be happier at work
If you’ve been thinking about making a change careerwise but aren’t sure where to start, I’ve got good news! I've opened up some slots in my calendar for consultations. These are free, 30-minute, no-obligation chats, and it’s my goal to have five of these meetings by the end of October 2019!
We can talk about career transition, job frustration, elevator pitches, limiting beliefs, resumes, interviews or whatever else you are concerned about!
I hope you're seeing new possibilities open up to you. And if you’re feeling frustrated, let’s chat (click that button above!).
